"My husband and I have traveled all over NZ over the past 11 years, and I can say without reservation that this was one of our favorite places to stay. Bruce is an amazing human being, full of local knowledge and humor and genuine concern for his guests. Bruce was more than just a host---we felt that we have gained a friend. Steeples itself is a wonderful accommodation, with show-stopping views of the Steeples across the water and Gibson's Beach below, great amenities and comfortable, modern lodgings, lovely gardens, and a nice proximity to things to do and see in the wild West Coast/Westport area. This past Dec 2017, we spent 5 days here and wish it could have been more. For sure, we will be back in our future travels---and that's saying something because we tend to never visit the same places twice!"

"My family had the pleasure of staying at the Steeples 3 years ago. This place is so worth staying in fact we stayed an extra night. Amazing views, wonderful host's, clean comfortable and everything we needed to make our stay memorable. Sharon, Max, Joe and Tobey from Hervey Bay.QLD"

"We had a great stay at the Steeples. Pauline and Bruce were great hosts, warm, friendly and outgoing. This, together with the great options for the stay and the killer sunset views make their place a winner. Thanks for a great stay, too short, but a memorable one!"

"My husband and I stayed for only one night about two years ago. We found the accommodation to be very clean, comfortable and it felt like home. The views were spectacular as was the hospitality of the owners. All of our breakfast ingredients, which were plentiful, were supplied and were "farm fresh" - eggs from their own hens, freshly baked bread, bacon, tomatoes etc. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer."

"One of the nicest surprizes of our trip in October 2007. The separate cottage is a large space, clean and comfortable. Terricfic modern shower and large firm bed. The sea cliff lawn is manicured to perfection. Our hosts were friendly and it was nice to be able to make our own breakfast with the provisions in the kitchen. We wish we could stay here a week or two. Thank You Pauline and Bruce. Traci and Greg."

Traci Oberle, 13/02/2008

"We were looking for a relaxing break from our own holiday accommodation business, we felt relaxed as soon as we stepped in the door, the views are amazing, and the cottage was fantastic, cosy, warm and welcoming. Great walks and friendly locals. Try the local pub and The Bayhouse Restaurant."
