Location Information

Wellington is sometimes refered to as Wellywood because of it's connection with Peter Jackson (Film maker). A visit to the Roxy Theatre in Miramar, and the Weta Studio's are recommended when in Wellington. Holloway Road has been described as changing in character, from a colourful street into a street with a more gentrified character.

"Lovely location, friendly host, but disappointed with the bed & breakfast. On arrival found out that the owner had a cat and that it had free reign of the house. We were not advised of this when booking nor did it state it on the website. Owner was spring cleaning/airing and the lounge room was a mess on our arrival. Lots and lots....of cat fur over furnishings and pillows and overall a untidy looking place and did not smell the best. Partner suffers from asthma and allergic to cats. What a disaster. Owner was apologetic. We had to find other accommodation elsewhere which was not an easy task at that late stage of the day. If you like cats and fur, then this is the place for you."
