Property Description
Devenport Estate is only a 15 minute drive/train ride from the Wellington CBD or 5 minute drive to Petone's many restaurants. We have plenty of off street parking. There are three guestrooms. All have either ensuite or private bathroom. Alasdair and Christopher have been running Devenport as a B&B since 2001. Guests get an arrival drink of wine/cider.
Enjoy stunning sea, bush and garden views. Bedrooms contain queen-sized bed (and single beds for the harbour view twin rooms), writing desk, chairs, tea-making services, electric blanket with either an en suite or private bathroom. Rooms one and three have harbour views and are at the front of the house. Room two is at the back of the house without a sea view.
Relax in the guest living room or outside in the sun on the garden deck chairs. Admire the vines and water features or watch the yachts sail past on the harbour.
Avoid city stress and leave your car here, we are only a 15 minute train ride to central Wellington. Devenport provides; free WiFi broadband internet, free laundry service for stays of two or more nights. Some limits apply. Continental breakfast is included either in the formal Dining Room or alfresco, overlooking Somes Island. At night, enjoy the vast variety of restaurants of Petone's Jackson Street - only a 5 minute drive from Devenport.
Devenport Estate was built after Alasdair's grandparents house in Scotland. The original Blaracha is in Roy Bridge not far from Fort William built in 1905. Devenport Estate was also built at the turn of the century, in 2000, in Korokoro, Petone in New Zealand.
We have several hundred Pinot Gris grapevines and make our own wine when we can, and also make our own cider. Sometimes we buy in commercial fruit to make wine or cider. We have free range hens providing fresh eggs for breakfast.

Petone is well known for its great café society and antique & second-hand shops. As well as rapidly becoming the main retail centre for the Hutt Valley.
