Photos of Shy Cottage Boutique Bed and Breakfast
Rachel and Nigel are honoured to be the custodians of two settlers cottages set in beautiful gardens in the heart of Greytown, which itself is in the heart of the wonderful Wairarapa.
Shy Cottage was moved onto the section in 2002 and was renovated and insulated so now is cosy. warm and romantic. There is a full kitchen with a dining area and lounge with a wood burner. Off the comfortable bedroom is a lovely bathroom with a claw foot bath and separate shower.
Shy Apartment is a good size with combined living and sleeping,a separate kitchenette with a microwave, electric fry pan, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee maker; the shower room has a lovely stained glass window. There is a lovely picture window in the living/sleeping area and you can see onto one of the private courtyard areas.
In the garden there is a Garden Room Spa Bath, (3 sided building) with 2 person Spa Bath which can be booked as an extra, we provide the bubble bath, you can provide your favourite drink.
Both accommodations have their own BBQs and private outdoor sitting and eating areas; they have Free View TVs, DVD player, radios, books, Kiwiana jigsaw puzzles and games and DVDs for you to enjoy.
You are welcome to wander around the garden, from where some of the breakfast provisions come. We have a young dog and a cat who love to say hello to guests but are not allowed in the accommodations, though they will ask you!!!
We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Greytown is a town full of character with plenty of original cottages and shops to be found along its lovely streets. Many of the houses have lovely gardens behind picket fences, it's a wonderful country town to wander around. There are plenty of great places to eat and the shops are a mixture of antique, clothes, gifts and homeware. Being set in the heart of the Wairarapa you are well placed to explore the vineyards and olive groves where tasting and buying are encouraged, There are amazing walks in the hills and on the local beaches, all that and Wellington is only 1 1/2 by train or car, with all it has to offer.
