Property Description

Herbert House is a comfortable home away from home. Your hosts Jean and Alan have travelled extensively, including sailing around the world on their yacht Tuatara. We have recently travelled for 3 months in Europe,Scandinavia, Iceland, Faroe islands and the UK. We enjoyed staying in Bnb establishments and small hotels. We enjoy talking to guests about their travels or are happy to leave people to their privacy.
We are centrally located for travelling to Auckland, around the Waikato and the Bay of plenty. We are within an easy drive to Hobbiton, Waitomo caves and the coastal beauty of Raglan for surfing of just fish and chips on the beach.
Alan with Jean's help has just finished renovating the house.
Alan and Jean are happy to chat and give ideas where to go to enjoy all that Hamilton and the Waikato has to offer.
We have 2 double rooms with Queen beds and one with 2 singles(1 is a king single).
Herbert house is ideal for families or friends travelling together or for individuals visiting for pleasure or business.
Herbert House is just 15 min walk from Chartwell Square shopping mall and cinemas. The CBD is 10 min drive away or the bus passes the door. Te Awa Mall and The Base shopping centre is about 7 min drive away. The Orbiter bus goes past Chartwell square around the city passing the University, Hospital and outer suburbs.
The Waikato river parks and walkways are 5mins walk away.Access to bike ways along the river and around the city is also close by.
The Balloons over Waikato festival and The Rugby Sevens are two of many popular events in Hamilton..

"Jean and Alan are excellent hosts, helpful with directions, times and suggestions. We had a great time and as their B and B is within walking distance of the river and a good food hall everything was easy. They were very kind and helpful with everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and we look forward to returning some time. Barbara and Andrea."

"Jean and Alan have been amazing hosts during my frequent stays while attending block courses at Waikato University. Staying at Herbert House was always comfortable, welcoming and warm - home away from home!"

"We had a fantastic experience staying at Jean and Alan's B and B in Hamilton. They are amazing hosts, welcoming us into their home and looking after us in any way they could. It felt like home away from home. We share interests in biking and boating and many more areas. The accomodation was clean, newly decorated and spacious. The bathroom was luxurious, a great facililty. This is excellent value for money and we will sure be back!!"

"Jean and Alan were excellent hosts. They made me very welcome. Jean kindly gave me transport when required. They welcomed me into their home and I felt like one of the family from telling me of their adventures during their 9 years sailing around the world to sitting in on a family bbq. Their home was spotlessly clean and the bedroom and bathroom facilities were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their B&B to anyone."
