"My sister and I arrived - with our two horses! - at this lovely farm to be greeted with such warm and genuine kiwi hospitality that we immediately felt right at home. Dianne and John are the most wonderful hosts who really do make you feel like you are being pampered by your mum and dad! The farm is set in the most beautiful countryside with sheep grazing all around in the rolling green pastures. There is native bush in the gullies and views to Mount Ruapehu etc... and the garden is immaculate and overflowing with a wonderful range of plants. The grazing for the horses was fabulous and they really enjoyed their stay as well. The walk around the farm with Dianne and the farm dog one morning was a real treat. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, the rooms are very nice with superb views out over the farm and the whole experience was just such a wonderful way to start our journey that we just HAD to stay there again on our way home!! Thank-you Dianne and John, we look forward to seeing you again on our next trip north! XX"
"Views all around the house. Great breakfast. A lady who tries hard to make her guests happy. I felt at home in Dianne's magnificent home."
"Dianne and John were so welcoming for me and my K9 travelling companion. Wonderful accommodation, lovely people, just perfect."
"A highpoint for me was the home stay, discussions with you. Many thanks for your hospitality, your great house, very good meals, education on sheep and NZ. Very warm feelings for you and for the comfortable stay, best wishes to you!"
"The McKinnons were terrific! 10 out of 10! Welcomed us with open arms. Couldn't do enough for us. Dianne cooked beautiful mealsl, enjoyed at their table with good conversation. One morning the power went off, we got up and Dianne was t the propane bbq fixing us a hot breakfast! I enjoyed their company and hospitality immensely!"
"I enjoyed my stay with you immensely. What hospitality! Your home is beautiful, the meals we're outstanding, but most of all I loved chatting with you and trying to understand Kiwi words and ways. Dianne, thanks again for the beautiful meals you prepared and your warmth. John, I was so impressed with your inventivemenss with your garden and property are so well done!"
"I stayed with John & Dianne for 5 nights. Their hospitality was amazing. I returned 2 weeks later with my family. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. It was like home from home."
"We had an amazing stay with great company, good food and a comfortable bed! We even bought our horse! I would really reccommend as a home away from home!!"
"Very new and lovely house with a wide view over farmland. A great place to stop on the long road between Wellington and Auckland"
"I don't know if I can rave enough about my stay at Grandvue. It was fabulous. John and Dianne made my sister and I so welcome that we would go out of our way to stay there again. It is in the perfect location to break a trip north and as we were travelling with horses it was even more appreciated as we let the horses out in their idyllic paddock. We then cleaned up in the lovely house and enjoyed a scrumptious meal with our delightful hosts. The garden and surrounds are devine and John and Dianne encourage you to take a look around their property. Just fabulous! Thanks so much. Regards Charlotte from Australia."
