"Lovely room, very nice welcome, Carolyn & Melvin took us to see the glowworms and although it was raining it was a lovely sight, we had breakfast and evening meals which were delicious, cake and fresh flowers in our room both days a very nice touch. Carolyn told us about the thermal baths and loaned us towels to save our own. Highly recommend Fernleaf."

"Fantastic. Beautiful room surrounded by beautiful gardens. Comfy bed. Outstanding breakfast and dinner, in presentation and taste. Lovely host and hostess. Completely enjoyable walk on the farm."

"Thank you Carolyn & Melvin for your wonderful hospitality. Our bed was comfortable and warm in a spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was absolutely first class plus. Should we have the opportunity, we will have no hesitation in giving your farmstay our enthusiastic recommendation. Dave & Marg Tauranga"

"Hi Carolyn and Melvin, String would like to offer his sincere gratitude for your amazing hospitality for the two families (Xupeng Zheng and co) that stayed with you on 30 July 2014. Both families thoroughly enjoyed their stay (and the food!) on your farm - apparently so much so that they cancelled their skiing trip to spend more time with you! They are hoping to return one day and experience an NZ Summer and both families have said they will stay with you again if that happens. String has also saved your details for future reference should he have more groups travelling to NZ. Thanks again for making their holiday fantastic :-)"

"We spent 2 nights at the Fernleaf Farmstay during our trip to North Island New Zealand Feb 21-23, 2014. We really wish we could have stayed longer! Upon arrival we were shown to our room and fresh flowers were there by the bed. Surely from the beautiful garden out front. Carolyn and Melvin were such gracious hosts, allowing us to walk the pastures, taking us in the evening to see the local glowworms and giving an excellent dinner recommendation the night we ate out. The two dogs Billy and Henry were adorable and sweet natured, they helped us with the homesickness that comes with missing our own pets. My husband and I spent a day doing to Tongariro Crossing - a short drive from the farm. Only after about 5 hours/13km into the 20km walk did we stop for lunch - the breakfast was that good! I can not recommend the Fernleaf Farmstay enough - Thank you Melvin and Carolyn, our stay was the accommodation (and breakfast) highlight of the whole trip!"

"25th January 2014 We have just returned from a wonderful trip to New Zealand - we stayed in many lovely places, but Fernleaf Farmstay was a real accommodation highlight! So much effort has been put in to making the guests feel welcome and comfortable, from fresh flowers in the bedroom to a fantastic breakfast in the mornings. The farm itself is in a beautiful location and also perfectly placed to visit the Tongariro National Park, Lake Taupo and other wonderful places. Carolyn and Melvin were ever so friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Fernleaf Farmstay and hope to be able to return one day!"

"I went to the Fernleaf Farmstay Nov 2012 and just loved it! My husband and I often think about roaming the farm, eating our delicious home cooked meal in the pleasant company of Carolyn and Melvin. They were the nicest people we met in New Zealand. Oscar and Charlie the lambs were a highlight too. This was one of the best parts of the trip and we were so grateful they welcomed us into their home. Can't recommend it enough! Enjoy your stay!"

"Melvin and Carolyn We want to thank you for the wonderful hospitality we experienced during our stay at Fernleaf Farmstay. We were amazed at the exquisite presentation of each meal, making each meal feel special not to mention incredibly delicious! The accommodations were very inviting, attractive and comfortable. The central location of your farm was perfect, and afforded us the ability to visit many waterfalls in the area. We particularly appreciated the suggestions of sights to see during our stay. We were so pleased we were able to stay an extra night. We sincerely appreciated the time you took to show us around your beautiful farm, and the great conversations we had while with you. We will highly recommend a stay at Fernleaf Farmstay to anyone we know who is planning a trip to New Zealand. Jerry & Stephanie El Segundo, California, USA"

"We enjoyed, very much, our two nights in this quiet spot away from the main road. Carolyn and Melvin are friendly and interesting people who offer a genuine farmstay experience. We took advantage of the optional evening meal, which, like the breakfast, was excellent."
