Location

Location Information

Te Anau is the closest town to Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. We recommend staying in Te Anau as it cuts the driving time down to less than half if you stayed in Queenstown. It makes your trip to Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound a lot more relaxing and enjoyable without the stress of thinking you have to drive back to Queenstown from Milford (4 1/2 hours) we have lots of very nice restaurants here in the town just a 2 minute walk from Cosy Kiwi. Milford Road also offers lots of short walks and longer walks so another reason to have the full day to see such an amazing part of our country. Also in town here we have several activities to fill your time, Glow Worm Caves up Lake Te Anau, tours on Lake Te Anau, Bird Park, golf, bike riding, tramping, Kayaking on either of the sounds, horse riding, and much more so come and enjoy Fiordland we have lots to offer.

"We have stayed at the Cozy Kiwi several times and always found it to be very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Eleanor is a gracious and knowledgeable hostess and makes an excellent breakfast! We had the advantages and convenience of a motel (great shower, mini-fridge, in room coffee/tea) with the comfort of good beds and the friendliness of a B&B. We recommend the Cozy Kiwi to our friends and we will keep coming back."
