"After 3 weeks traveling through the entire we arrived in Tasman Downs wlecomed by Linda... and the entire time spent at Tasman Downs was by far the most unique and rewarding experience of our entire trip. Linda is a marvelous host, the house is splendid, the landscape is the most amazing one we have seen in NZ, the food was delicious. If we were to go back to NZ regardless of the destination we would make sure not to miss to spend at least a few nights in Tasman Downs enjoying the calm and quiet surroundings the breathtaking views and the hospitality of Linda and her cooking skills. A MUST VISIT PLACE FOR ANYONE TRAVELING IN NZ!"

"Tasman Downs is in an idyllic location, and is simply a must for the views of Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki alone. Add to that the excellent hosts - thank you Linda for looking after me and the conversation, and the fantastic food!! Big thank you to Ian for the farm tour (well worth the extra). Definitely need to return on my next trip to NZ!!"

"This was our second stay at Tasman Downs. Sometimes it is a mistake to revisit an accommodation for a second time. But not this one . Linda made us feel part of the family immediatley and dinner and breakfasts are as good as any you will ever eat. Dinner in the evening is always punctuated by the ever changing views and colours of Mt Cook.. Possibly the best views of Mt Cook anywhere! Linda a superb hostess in a comfortable and welcoming house. An experience not to be missed if you are in the McKenzie Country.Roger & June Baird, England."

"Old world, very comfortable stunning views (due to perfect weather of Mt Cook). A guided trip around the farm, highly recommend. Very friendly."

"The drive out to Tasman Downs alongside the Pukaki lake already relaxed us before we arrived. The snow capped hills and Mt Cook made the scenery magic. The stone cottage was rustic in looks and inside felt warm and friendly. Linda is a fabulous cook while we had a lovely corned beef roast and scrumptious cooked veges and various sauces. With creme caramel to follow, we were ready for a talk over the log fire and retired to a comfortable bed. Thank you Linda Marg and Phil Thew and Fran and Dennis Suttling Please email us back."

"What an incredible country! Everyone should visit in their lifetime. A priviliage to stay at this station in the beauty of Lake Pukaki with striking views of Mt Cook. Wonderful hospitality."

Susan Judah, 08/03/2009

"What a priviledge to have stayed with Linda and to have had this remarkable experience of staying on a Station to learn of the stations family history with the incredible views of Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki. To have a breakfast cooked on the barbecue when the electricity failed..Linda was unfazed and produced a delicious meal-then Ian took us for a farm tour herding up the black angus cattle with a four wheel drive..endless memories and our most memorable of our visit to this outstanding country. One simply cannot fully appreciate N.Z. without staying in a B@B and meeting these special people who have lived their lives and can share their experiences with you."

"An amazing place to stay, could have looked at the view from the lawn for a week on it's own."

Chris, 27/06/2007

"The memories of my stay here with my father will stay with me forever. As well as the great company, delicious food and oustanding location, nothing could beat being able to step out the house first thing in the morning and walking along the shores of a the huge bright blue lake (Pukaki) with a great snow topped mountain range stretching before you, mount cook looking straight at you, surrounded in wild lupins and nothing but the birds to share it with. Bliss. Linda and Bruce - Thank you for a truely special stay - we miss your company and your incredible house."

Kirsty Hunter, 05/12/2006

"Knew it was going to be special from the moment we hit the long stone track passing through the Tasman Downs. Superb hosts, very good food, stupendous views. Very interesting tour of farm. Will always remember being on the lawn at midnight with perfectly clear sky and Mount Cook illuminated and the lake shimmering. Visited in February 2006"
