Ashworth Gardens B&B is situated above the Clutha River near the historic Millers Flat Bridge. The house is set amongst beautiful grounds with over 100 Rhododendrons, Azaleas and a multitude of spring bulbs. In summer the many roses and colourful flowers attract Tui's, Bellbirds and other native birds. Allan & Isabel are keen gardeners and are happy to share their garden with you.
Allan is also an avid collector of yesterdays New Zealand Curios which is open for your enjoyment. Isabel is a qualified Massage Therapist and Reki Master / Teacher.
Our accommodation consists of two separate bedrooms with two comfortable single beds, each with electric blankets. Shared toilet, shower and bathroom.
Adjacent Ashworth Gardens are tennis courts, a children's playground and the new Faigans Cafe and Store. Serving lunch,Tues - Sun and dinners Friday and Saturday nights and later on in the season during the week. Situated just across the road and the ice creams and venison pies are to die for Further up the road is the Millers Flat heated swimming pool which has an average water temperature in summer of 27 degrees.
Millers Flat is situation 1.5 hrs from Dunedin, Queenstown, The Catlins and 2hrs from Invercargill. With 30 minutes to Lawrence and Tapanui, 40 minutes to Alexandra there's plenty of exploring to do. The Clutha River boast good Salmon fishing and Brown Trout fishing at Lake Onslow 40 minutes away.
The popular Clutha Gold Cycling Trail runs right past our front gate. This newly established trail runs along the Clutha River (Mata-Au) between Roxburgh Dam and Beaumont, then heads inland to Lawrence.
Evening meals are available, just a 5 minute walk across the bridge at the Millers
Flat Tavern.
