"We stayed with the Sutherlands in 1989, and we still remember them fondly. Theirs was the cover B&B on the front of the Book! They touted themselves as great conversationalists -- and it was true! The breakfast was first rate, the people were the best! Wish we could return to see them again soon. Eric & Lorn Salem Oregon USA"
"Although my stay in Dunedin was the shortest throughout my week long vacation in New Zealand, I will miss Dunedin most because of Magnolia House. Loved its Victorian charm, the serene surroundings and best of all its delightful hosts. George and Joan Sutherland were so attentive and concerned about our comfort and convenience; staying with them is indeed like staying with one's grandparents."
"Beautiful home and wonderful hosts. The garden and house are a treasure and the cats are friendly. Will visit again one day because Joan & George made us feel at home in their home."
"Very friendly and comfortable stay. Excellent breakfast. Lovely hosts. Good value. A bit out of town if travelling without a car. Probably not so well suited to younger travellers. Highly recommended."
"excellent!"

"George and Joan are wonderful! I had the best time just talking with them in the evenings. They served a wonderful breakfast and an assortment of treats. The single room I stayed in was great, because there were heated blankets and the beds were so comfortable. George and Joan's hospitality, however, was probably the best aspect of my stay. I would definately book with them again, if I got the chance to go back to Dunedin."
"Lovely old house and good breakfasts. Very friendly helpful hosts."
"Joan & George could not be more helpful. I will stay again when in town."
"The warmth of the welcome and the interest in our lives made this a very special place."
"Our hosts were most gracious, nothing was too much trouble. All food homemade and a beautiful old home with wonderful gardens. Comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast. Plus a most entertaining George."

"It is a wonderful place to stay and the hosts are wonderful. It is very relaxing and the breakfasts are the best"
"We were just looking back at pictures of our five week trip to New Zealand last March 2013 and wanted to write about a few of our B & B's that made our trip memorable. The hosts were gracious and very hospitable. The house is beautiful and the room are clean and well appointed. As this was our last stop before returning home they offered us scales to weigh our luggage and assisted us with containers so we could pack our special souvenirs. Thank you George and Jean. Your kindnesses were greatly appreciated."
