Property Description

'Heaven on a stick' is one guest's way of describing this special home. Brand new, best materials, built atop hill overlooking 3 different harbour views and with a volcanic dome behind to the South. At road's end, it is peaceful and private.
An open-to-sky atrium separates the two ensuites, for extra privacy. Owner Terry is an extremely well-traveled Kiwi, speaking some six languages; with an eclectic library and a home that reflects his interests and loves: nature, art, travel.
You will feel privileged to stay here; and I love to share the beauty; so we both gain.
NEW for new Season: a powerful night-sky Telescope with no light pollution AND high-flying Kites with easy hill-top breezes: for your free use!

Location Information

Whangaroa Harbour is a small friendly village, with two cafes/restaurants with their bars; a special secret place even to many Kiwis. But fishers know it as a great recreational or big-game fishing area. It is the most lovely natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere; the North Island's only fjord-like harbour; and NZ's deepest and safest; the 'long harbour' at 10kms length. The immediate district of Whangaroa has kauri forests, nine (9) white sand beaches, four (4) recognized DOC walking tracks among the best NZ has to offer; and the homely and welcoming small town of Kaeo ('small town, big spirit'). Whangaroa is the recommended place to spend to explore the Far North: situated halfway between the touristy hustle and bustle of Paihia/Bay of Islands and the long lonely Ninety Mile Beach & Cape Reinga.
