Welcome to our home, The Captains Rose.
Situated just a moments walk from the foreshore, where you can see the wreck of the old 'Janie Seddon' and the awesome views across Tasman Bay to Nelson. You can walk the sand-spit which is home to the 'Godwits', birds that fly in from Alaska. Stroll the lovely estuary walks behind us, that have beautiful views with Mt Arthur in the background. Only a few minutes drive into Motueka township by car.
We have two options for you to choose from.
The Captain's Suite or The Rose Room.
THE CAPTAIN'S SUITE has a cozy lounge with tea and coffee facilities, microwave, toaster dishes etc, (no oven or cook top) making it possible for you to enjoy a snack or small meal if you don't wish to go out..bring home a take away. The connecting bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed for two and for that extra person, a single bed tucked in the corner of the lounge. Then there is the gorgeous private bathroom. Everything you need for complete privacy. The lounge also opens out to our shady back garden. $130 for 2 persons, $30 extra person.
THE ROSE ROOM. Our smaller but elegant room, perfect for one person but will accommodate two comfortably, with a queen size bed. The shower and basin is within the room, and the toilet - exclusive to you, just down the hall. You are invited to share the main lounge and dining areas with your hosts, if you wish. Guests may help themselves to tea and coffee in the kitchen. $100 for up to 2 persons.
Quality bed linen and bath robes supplied in both bedrooms. Linen and some furnishings may differ from photos.
We serve a delicious continental breakfast, using local fruits in season, home made muesli and breads with a selection of my special homemade jams, yogurt and local honey. All this served with juice, tea and coffee. We are happy to cook if anyone is desperate for something different, but must be booked in advance. All served at a time to suit you!
All outdoor areas including the swimming pool, BBQ and chiminea is also available for guests to enjoy. We have a lovely leafy covered 'nook' with table and chairs, magic in the evening with the lights on around the pool, the best place to enjoy a bottle of wine and unwind.
We would be more than happy to share our knowledge of the area and help you with planning any of your activities whatever your requirements.

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Captains Rose. Evelyn and Nick were so welcoming and helpful and all the facilities were great; we especially enjoyed sitting out by the pool and being able to eat outside. Would definitely recommend."
"We had a nice stay at The Captains Rose. Evelyn is a great host and the rooms are very clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent and Evelyn helped us a lot to find the best scenic places in the area of Motueka. We also enjoyed to have a swim in their own pool. Highly recommendable."
"This B&B is really great! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is wonderful. Evelyn's breakfast was delicious, with homemade jams and bread. For us - people from the NL - it was a nice to have talks with our hosts about their life in NZ. We really recommend this B&B! Gijs and Thea"
"This is a delightful bed and breakfast. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and informative. The suite (it is more than a bedroom) was very comfortable with all the amenities. We even cooked our supper. Wonderful bathroom, large shower, and tub. The bed was very comfortable. The place was immaculate. Outside our room was a lovely pool, and sitting area tucked into a corner under a gazebo. The pool area was lit at night with wonderful ambiance. We sat outside and enjoyed a glass of wine ... it felt very luxurious. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the homemade bread and jams. We would definitely recommend this stay. Marge - Feb 22, 2012"
