New in 2010 is our 'Victorian' designed Cottage, using many of the original Inn's features. It is located in the Brookside garden, just steps away from the main house. Here we have two very special, luxurious queen guest rooms, the Courtyard Suite and Brookview. Guests staying in the Cottage join us for gourmet breakfasts in the main dining room of the inn.
This can also be used as a 1 or 2 bedroom executive, fully equipped, cottage for four night minimum stays for 1 or 2 couples
The Baywick Inn is located in a quiet garden setting along the Maitai River, and is only a 5 minute walk to the central city to some of Nelson's best restaurants and cafes as well as many artists studios, shops and other Nelson attractions and just a short walk across the river to the Centre of NZ.
Also we are just 100 m's from the Botanics Park where the first game of rugby was played in NZ in 1870
It is only a short drive to visit local wineries and for day trips to Abel Tasman National Park.
Come and enjoy all that sunny Nelson has to offer and stay at the charming 5 Star Tripadvisor rated Baywick Inn, B&B Nelson.
Baywick Inn is rated "excellent" by 117 travellers on Trip Advisor and have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for 2013by Trip Advisor
Canadian Chef, Janet Southwick, ensures that breakfasts are always a treat.
Her homemade maple toasted muesli is one of the most sought after recipes, followed by blueberry baked French toast, specialty omelettes and frittatas.
Breakfasts are made to order, healthy or indulgent, cooked or continental.
Farm fresh eggs, fruits and vegetables are always in abundance.
Janet and Tim as members of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, we both enjoy sharing with guests the history of our home, highlights like the 1929 earthquake and the work we did to renovate and restore the Baywick Inn.
Tim owns Baywick's Wine Cellars the only New Zealand company that manufactures redwood wine racks and he designs custom made wine cellars ... he also knows some very good wines to put in your cellar.
You might enjoy seeing our classic MG and Tim's trolleys that he builds and races in Robertson's Trolley Derby down Collingwood St at the end of each summer.
The Baywick Inn is also home to Mombozzie and Jazzinski, wire haired fox terriers, who only greet guests at their request but are both keen for a "guided walk" to the Centre of NZ at any time!
