Property Description

If you love Christmas and lights, from the beginning of December our house will be lit up outside with a lovely Christmas lights display for our guests to enjoy.

Our Home-stay is a relaxing quiet retreat, with lovely comfortable beds.
A lovely warm home with good heating in the winter, or a lovely space in the summer.Double glazing, lovely garden and patio area to enjoy a glass of local wine in the summer, or just to sit and enjoy our space.

Please note your hosts Virginia and Steve live on the property, so you will be sharing the homestay with them.

The Rooms and what we are offering:
A large room, with a queen bed and another separate room with 1 single bed also available, but only booked as a group of 2 or 3.

Tariff is $105.00 for 1-2 people and then $125.00 for 3 people.

The bathroom is solely for your use, with a shower & bath, then separate toilet.

Shared lounge,dining,kitchen,laundry and outdoor space with your hosts Virginia and Steve.

A free self service continental breakfast is supplied every morning during your stay.
During the winter a cooked breakfast is also available, at an extra cost of just $10.00 per person per night.Please order in advance when booking so I can have supplies fresh.
Free Wireless Unlimited Internet.

We can provide an evening meal of 2 courses, main and dessert for $25.00 per person.Please advise when booking of this requirement or in advance.

We have 2 Unisex and 1 ladies bike with helmets and bike-lock, which you are welcome to use for free.
We also have a good library of books you are welcome to read while staying with us.
Toys and Board games for the big and small people to use.
We have chiller bags and picnic items free for you to use during your stay.Fold up chairs and table is also here for you to take with you on your picnic if you are staying with us for a few days.
Free use of washing machine and washing liquid plus the dryer in the wintertime if wet.Outside clothes line is also available.
Help yourself to hot drinks anytime.
Welcome to use herbs from our garden.
Use our garden, to relax in.
Our bbq is available to use .
Welcome to share our TV and lounge area
+ outside table and chairs on the patio.
Welcome to use basic grocery items like salt/pepper,oil,herbs and spices.
Plenty of space in the fridge for your chilled items.
Free cuddles with our cats Smokey and Lucky.
Free maps, plenty of information of the area, recommendations for eating out, vineyards to visit and local attractions.
Free booking service for wine tours, and private tours of the area can also be arranged.

Very Quiet area and we are a back section, so no traffic noise.

Guests are welcome to have privacy of their own queen or single bedroom, sole use of the main bathroom, and separate toilet .

Enjoy a free Continental breakfast each morning of your stay laid out for you to help yourself to.

Relax and unwind as you enjoy what our beautiful region has to offer, you will be wishing you could stay longer.

We are available to give information on the area and things to do.We have good local knowledge and experience.
We are here if you want to ask anything at any time, or want to chat, but if you want your own space that's fine too.

The neighborhood:
We are in a lovely quiet street, no thru traffic.
We have the Wither Hills behind us with lots of walks up the hill, and working farm park.
5 min drive you are in the Town Centre.Plenty of Cafe's and restaurants to dine in.
Wineries are all close by 5 mins drive to the first ones.

What does the region offer:
The must do in Blenheim is lunch at a local vineyard.
If you aren't into wine, then there is still lots to do.
Here are a few ideas:
Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre World famous, and the Classic cars next door,
Makana Confections ( Blenheim very own boutique chocolate factory),
The Moa Brewery, and Dodson's Beer Garden, 2 craft Beer brewery's here in Blenheim.
Take one of the many day cruises in the Marlborough Sounds.
The Marlborough Museum has a fantastic wine exhibition, well worth a visit.
Markets: We have a great farmers Market on a Sunday Morning with lots of local products.
Saturday over the summer is a Market in the town centre, plus the Rotary Market by the train station.
Visit the Vines Village,

30mins drive you are in Picton,Havelock or Seddon.Lots to do in the area.
Nelson is and hour and a hour away,The Nelson Lakes are also an hour and half away, great day trips.

Getting around:
We do have a limited bus service from 9-3pm and the bus stop is 5 mins walk.
5 mins walk gets you to the Wither hills farm park.5 mins drive to town centre where there are lots of cafes, restaurants, supermarket or shops.
The airport is 10mins drive.
We are able to offer a pickup service from the airport or bus station of $15.00.

We also can do a drop off and pickup service into town if you wish to go out for dinner and don't want to worry about having a few drinks and not be able to relax.Our drink drive laws are tougher now in New Zealand, so don't take the risk.We do have taxis in Blenheim, but not Uber, so they are expensive, so we can be your Uber driver for $10.00 each way or return $20.00.

We have 2 Unisex and 1 ladies bike which you are welcome to use for free to get around the many bike tracks and vineyards.The Marlborough area is very flat so great for cycling.

Other things to note:
We do have 2 cats, so if you don't like cats or have an allergy to them, this won't work for you to stay at our place.

Please send or txt with an arrival time, so we are able to be home to check you in.

We now have a hop on hop off bus operating in Blenheim, and also this company is now running a bus service every hour until 6pm from Picton and Blenheim.It leaves from the ISite in Picton then travels to the ISite in Blenheim,also can take you to the Marlborough Airport.
