"We stayed at Fay and Alan's lovely house for 2 nights but it would have been nice to stay longer. We had an excellent evening meal and the breakfasts were also something to look forward to. Thanks to Fay for being so hospitable and Alan for spending the time showing us around their land. Next time we are in the area we would definitely want to stay again."
"My rating for this B&B is a 12! Simply FABULOUS!!!! Faye and Allan are the epitome of HOSPITALITY. Every morning Faye would make a homemade breakfast that was "really homemade"--from the the homemade breads to the jellies (not one, but five different ones). The dinners were to die for--roasted lamb, potatoes, vegetables--as well as incredible desserts and homemade ice cream. The home reminded me of "Drogeda" from the tv mini-series "The Thornbirds"--the antiques are incredible! If you want class, this is the place to stay! Thank you Faye and Allan, we will be back!"
"What wonderful, welcoming, charming hosts Fay and Allen are. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here on New Years eve in spectacular surroundings. The house and gardens are a sight to behold and the welcome and breakfast amazing . I would recommend a stay here for the President ."
"We arrived late and left early the next morning ... had we known what a beautiful well kept place Fay and Allen have and how very nice both of them are, we would have certainly tried to stay longer. They were very busy organising a car rally and having 12 persons for lunch, but they still went the extra mile to spoil us with a fantastic breakfast and giving us many tips for our continuation through New Zealand! Thank you again very much Fay and Allen"
"This is one of the best stays on our 19 days trip in New Zealand. Fay and Allan were most welcoming and the room was neat, clean, luxurious and beautiful. Fay cooked a fantastic meal and both were generous with their time in sharing their beautiful corner of the world. Not only we enjoyed their typical English breakfast and also their lovely horse, sheeps and cattles even if their small factory by which it seems they could do anything. I would highly recommend Country Lane Homestay."
"A beautiful and tranquil place to stay with a lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and topped of with a delicious spread of choices for breakfast. An absolute delight staying at the Country Lane Homestay. I highly recommend this B&B if you are looking to stay in the Manawatu/Palmerston North area."
"Our few days away were made extra special by our wonderful stay at Allan and Fay's delightful country retreat. Gorgeous old character home in lovely gardens, elegant furnishings and scrummy homemade food as well as great company made this a memorable stay. We were made to feel very welcome. Fay and Allan go the extra mile - to the extent of searching and finding for us an old doorknob for our small villa. We so appreciated their thoughtfulness. Highly recommended, it must be on your bucket list! We will be back. Jane and Mike, Cambridge."
"I had nine nights at the country lane homestay and could not have been looked after better by Fay and Alan.A beautiful house in a beautiful garden . Breakfasts were a treat with lots of home produce. Fay and Alan were a great source of information about the area and i was spoilt rotten by being shown around the property. I will definetly visit again if i return to Palmerston North."
"Simply superb, faultless in every respect is the only way to describe our groups experience in February this year. Our sincere thanks Fay, you are the perfect host and looked after us with beautiful home cooked breakfasts and first class accommodation. The entire property is exquisite and sits on a beautiful relaxing location. Deserves a rating beyond 10. Many thanks Fay."
"Not only did they took us last minute but we we got there as strangers but left like old friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute while we were there. We were given the grand tour and were amazed how beautiful the house was, grounds and all. Fay fixed us a fabulous breakfast the following morning and we had lovely conversations, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable. No hesitation in recommending Fay and Allan to anyone travelling to Palmerston North"
"Just spent 3 days there and absolutely enjoyed every bit of our stay! I had 3 days course at Massey and husband came along. We weren't keen on staying in chain store motels and would prefer B&B (loved kiwi B&Bs last time we travelled here). Fay and Allan's place is about 10km from Massey and an easy 15 min drive with no traffic but some good farm views. We rent a car so commute was not a problem. Fell in love with the cute house the second we saw it. We had the upstair room with a superb bathtub, we enjoyed hot bath each night! If you choose to do it during the day, you'll have sunshine and a pretty garden and farmland view. Bed was so comfortable I slept through whole night, although I was supposed to have some jet lag. Fay spoiled us with huge breakfast. We had 3 different breakfast for 3 days and pretty much tried 10 different Fay's home made jam. The freshly squeezed lemonade was a great wake up drink (I didn't know there is actually a fruit called lemonade)! While I was at Massey, my husband got lots of useful tips from Fay and Allan and had a few wonderful local trips. He enjoyed also lying on the couch under the afternoon sun reading (says a lot of the comfort of the couch cos hubby has never been much of a reading person). Fay even went on to treat him afternoon tea and short cakes on the terrace! Loved their pet sheep too. Fay packed a bag of lemonade fruits for us to take on the following trip. I don't think it can get any better than this! We loved this B&B and our hosts a lot and will highly recommend it!"
"Fay looked after me very well. Her place is huge with front and back gardens. Super beautiful home and very quiet at night. I spend one night there. I asked her to arrange me a diary tour, Fay is very happy to help me out. It was so great! Fay's breakfast is another miracle. I ate too many to have my lunch. I definitely will stay there again next time."
"Couldn't think of any better place to stay. Very warm and friendly hosts, spotless clean bedroom and bathroom. Delicious homemade bread and jams and very good help to plan your stay. Felt more than comfortable with Fay and Allan. Many thanks !"
"Excellent hosts. Place is absolutely spotless and very homely. Had a wonderful stay. Thanks. Scott and Mike."
"Staying with Fay and Alan is a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The beauty of their home - and the rooms - the fantastic breakfasts, and perhaps most of all, their generosity of spirit, makes this a magical place to stay. This is the best B&B we have stayed in."

"We were taking our international guest and his partner who had just spoken at the National Power Conference to look at the Windfarms. We chose Country Lane homestay because it was very close to the Windfarms. We weren't dissappointed, a lovely house and great bedrooms. Fay and Alan joined us for a typical NZ roast lamb meal, delicious, what a dessert, great dinner conversation. Breakfast was also great, delicious home preserved nectarines. You won't go away from here hungry."
"Stayed here for one night while driving from Turangi to Wellington. Was an absolutely delightful place to stop, beautiful country home and lovely country hospitality. Faye and Allan were so welcoming. Beautiful room, quiet location and a delicious cooked breakfast that kept us going most of the day. We were able to head out and do the Manawatu Gorge walk which was just up the road. We had afternoon tea when we arrived and got a guided tour of the magnificent gardens. Hope to get back here again one day."
