"Had a wonderful stay at Cobden Gardens. Phillip and Rayma provided exceptional hospitality and are great company and know everything about the area including all of the history. There wasn't a question they could not answer. I stayed there on a business trip and they really make you feel special and relaxed in their immaculate and very comfortable vintage bnb. And of course the food was delicious and some of the fruits were new to me so it was a real treat. I would love to go back again one day. Thanks so much guys you have become like family to me. I highly recommend Cobden Gardens."

"I have travelled the length and breadth of NZ many many times. This is THE ultimate B+B. Superb hosts - Phillip really knows his wines and Rayma is an outstanding cook and they have a house of elegance. From the 'Drinks at 6', gazing over the gorgeous garden, nibbling on homemade (and more often than not, home grown") nibbles coupled with superb local wines, to the sumptuous bedrooms and facilities - it's all a treat in luxury at a very modest price. The breakfasts are amazing and it will take a good brisk walk to the town centre to walk the scrumptious fare off! I hesitate to share this find as it is such a treasure - but hey - everyone should treat themselves to pure indulgence once in a lifetime. In my case, I do it as often as I go to Napier."

"What an incredible week we had with Rayma & Phillip. Thank you so very much for all your tireless effort & help in seeing that we got the most out of our glorious week. The weather is fantastic here & our hosts made sure that we had every comfort to rest our weary selves at the end of a day. The bedrooms & two guest lounges are sumptuous & we simply adored the wine tastings on the veranda each evening with our hosts & fellow guests. The breakfasts on offer had a large selection of perfect choices to set us up for the day & we also appreciated being able to take an unrushed leisurely breakfast. Their attention to detail is excellent. Thank you thank you thank you! We can thoroughly recommend a few days or a week like us at Cobden with Rayma & Phillip who are one of our perfect hosts here in New Zealand"

"What a find! We could NOT have been happier with our short stay. This is one of the most beautiful B&Bs we have stayed in. Roomy, lovingly restored, beautiful antiques and furnishings, modern bathrooms, internet access in the sunroom, comfortable porch for relaxing with hosts and guests. Highly recommended!"

"Wonderful hosts who took very good care of their guests. Philip and Rayma were exceptional in their service!! They spent half their day off, chasing us around the countryside to reunite us with our most important bay - including the cell phones."

Steph & Brett Waterfield & Col. Galley, 26/09/2006

"This was a very comfortable stay. The hosts were kind and considerate to a person with walking difficulties although facilities were limited (downstairs bedroom)"

R Breckon, 20/04/2006

"Cobden Garden Homestay exceeded our expectations in every way. The amenities are 5 star and Philip and Rayma are warm, friendly and sophisticated hosts. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they surprised us with champagne at the evening wine soiree. They are very knowledgeable about Napier and were most helpful in suggesting things to see. Very highly recommended."
