"We spent two nights with Patricia and Ken in March 2015. They were friendly and helpful hosts and as noted in other reviews, their apartment provides excellent private facilities. The location of the house is good for visiting Rotorua and the surrounding attractions, and Ken is happy to share his expertise of the area."

Stephen and Jane Caldwell, 17/04/2015

"We stayed with Ken and Patricia for two nights from the 8th February 2015. They were very warm and welcoming and gave us lots of local information about Rotorua and the surrounding area. They were willing to help us in any way and did everything to make us comfortable. The accommodation was very spacious with a large lounge, really comfy bed, outdoor space, bathroom and small kitchen. The nutritious continental breakfast was delivered the night before which meant flexibility for us. Nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciated their friendliness. The centre of Roturua was a short drive away. We would definitely stay with them again."

Nigel and Mavis Battey, 04/03/2015

"We were lucky enough to be Patricia & Ken's first guests in their beautiful new home. They had only moved in ten days before - you would never have known. The apartment was fantastic a great space with all the comforts of home - one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept on! The breakfasts provided were delicious and nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts. Ken was a font of knowledge helping us plan trips and telling us some off the beaten track places to visit. It was an absolutely great place to stay in Rotorua and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Wishing you all the best in your new ventures. Sandra & Willoe"

Sandra Jamieson, 31/01/2015

"Very nice place to stay, good room and bed. Excellent breakfast. Friendley host with good information about the area. Just one of the best B&B we visit on our five weeks tour in NZ"

Peter & Trudy, 19/04/2014

"Very hospitable hosts. Great knowledge of the area. Very enjoyable walks nearby."

Colleen McGill, 10/02/2014

"Staying in Ken and Patricia's house was definitely my best day in NZ. Soon as I arrived at their beautiful home, they are very helpful to set me down, and recommend me a great restaurant nearby. The second day, Ken cooked a super nice dinner for me after I brought back trout. His cooking is so good. I love their lovely place, it's making a house into home."

"Thank you for looking after us so well, excellent breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble. Prefect hosts. A beautiful setting in a quiet yet handy place for visiting the surrounding areas. Thanks for all the tips about visiting places we would have missed. A lovely begining to our stay in North Island. Would definitely come and stay again. Jean and John Beverley. England."

Sachiko Saski, 31/01/2012

"Whether Kiwis or from overseas you will just love the friendly welcome, the comfortable accommodation and the amazing breakfasts. Then there is the close proximity to the lake and bush walks coupled with the tranquil view to New Zealand's most beautiful lake. Highly recommended."

David & Verla, 16/01/2012

"Ken and Tricia were wonderful hosts. The room was very comfortable with excellent breakfasts. They were very helpful with suggestions for sightseeing in the area. The lake is very peaceful with an incredible view and lovely walking paths. The B and B is close to town but far enough so that there are no sulfur smells. We would definitely stay here again. Ken and Tricia are a lot of fun. Terry and Frank"

Terry Carpenter, 11/11/2011

"This homestay had the best view of any we stayed in during our tour of New Zealand. Sitting on the banks of Lake Okareka it looks over the lake towards Mt Tarawera. It is a very tranquil location with lots of birdlife on the lake and round about. Our room was very light and had an exceptionally comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with plenty of fresh fruit and toast on demand. An excellent homestay for those visiting the Rotorua area and wishing for some peace and quiet, and no sulphur smells!"

Gavin & Maggie Forrest, 24/10/2011

"This homestay had the best view of any we stayed in during our trip. Situated on the side of Lake Okareka it looks over the lake towards Mt Tarawera. The house itself is equally impressive. Our room was very light and airy but cosy at night, with an exceptionally comfortable bed. Breakfasts were good with lots of fresh fruit and plenty of toast. We were very comfortable here and would recommend it to others visiting the Rotorua area who want to stay away from the sulphurous smells in a very tranquil setting."

Gavin & Maggie Forrest, 24/10/2011

"Great B&B with excellent hosts who provided marvelous facilities, lovely breakfast & lots of local helpful information which made our stay in the Rotorua area enjoyable and interesting."

Mr S & Mrs J Cox, 19/07/2011

"Ken's encyclopaedic knowledge, which he readily shared with us meant that the short time we spent in the Rotorua area was filled with interesting and varied activity. Lake Okareka B & B is ideally situated, over looking the lake, to visit the main attractions the area has to offer. The accommodation itself was bright, airy and lovingly maintained by Patricia. The breakfasts were delicious and kept us going all day. There is much more to the Rotorua area than just the volcanic and geothermal sites. The scenery in this landscape is so stunning that it is easy to understand Ken's enthusiasm for this beautiful area and we wish our stay had been longer."

Janet and Stephen Cox, 15/04/2011

"Here we found spotless luxurious accommodation with beautiful views in all directions. This is the perfect location for exploration of the amazing Rotorua area. The local knowledge and suggestions of our most welcoming hosts added a great deal to our exploration of this fascinating landscape and we have very fond memories of our time with Tricia and Ken. The ambience - and those wonderful breakfasts - were delightful. Stay here if you want to be spoilt!"

Susan and Arthur Lyons, 08/03/2011

"Perfect position right away from Roturua, quiet and overlooking lake Okareka. Lovely accommodation, we were in self-contained part which was very convenient. Breakfast with top quality fresh fruit salad on the balcony overlooking the lake was memorable. Hostess, Trish was very helpful with suggestions for visits and eating. Tarawera Landing being an excellent idea for the latter. Visited in Feb 06."

Gillian Jarvis, 04/09/2006

"What a wonderful position overlooking the lake. The breakfast was one of the best that we had tasted and the hosts so helpful - guiding us and telephoning to ascertain times of opening. The appartment was beautifully kept as was the rest of the house."
