"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the nights stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone . A beautiful spot with great views in a nice area . Had a great nights sleep and welcomed with a cold beer . Gaynor is a wonderful host and knows the area well ."

"Have just spent one night at Ridgevale and it worked very well. We liked the cosy homely atmosphere, and the fact there was a sitting room with some cooking facilities if we were staying longer. Gaynor was friendly and obliging, and nothing was too much trouble for her. We would definitely choose to stay there again in the future."

"A last minute decision saw mummy and daddy whisk me into our car and drive me to this wonderful place in Matua, Tauranga last weekend. When we got there we were all warmly greeted by Gaynor and her curly coated retriever Chloe. Mummy and daddy said they really enjoyed staying here and I sure did too! I even nipped upstairs to help Gaynor a few times and she was really nice to me! The beach is on the doorstep and daddy and I had a few walks in the sunshine and I loved every minute. Mummy and daddy got into the hot spa too and had a relax with some red wine stuff that I don't drink! The B&B is close to some great spots for walking and dining out and the restaurants were all happy for me to be there too. I had a great sleep in my crate, while mummy and daddy said their QS bed was super comfy too. Mummy and daddy enjoyed the yummy breakfast which included fresh fruit salad, chia yoghurts, juice, muesli, bacon and poached eggs and toast plus cups of tea! Gaynor made us really welcome and I think she is lovely and can't wait to go back 😃 Thank you to Gaynor and Scott from Jarrah the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and mummy Janice and Daddy Derek. This is great dog friendly accommodation woof woof !!"

"An absolute delight! A beautiful location with a wonderful track along the waterfront. Really lovely hosts that prepared delicious breakfasts and you're provided with all the facilities you need. This is not just a bed and a breakfast, it's bundled with much more! Thank you very much. All the best, Wagner family :-)"

"What a beautiful location, gorgeous view out over the water & a walking track along the waters edge. The bed was very comfortable & the suite was clean & nicely decorated with good facilities. Didn't get a chance to use the pool or spa but that will be something for the next visit. Attentive hostess, yummy cooked breakfast (& plenty of it). Lots to see & do in Tauranga & nearby Mt Maunganui. Highly recommended, you'll love it."

"We stayed at Ridgevale on 23/3/15 and this was our first Bed & Breakfast. We definitely chose a good one to stay in. Wonderful hosts. Comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. Great views of the harbour. They even have a spa and a pool. Situated in an area of Tauranga we had never been to. Matua is such a lovely quiet, restful place, and so easy to get to. Would definitely go back. Huge thanks to the Prestidge family for a most enjoyable stay."

"Excellent accommodation, excellent breakfast and excellent hosts. Situated in a quiet area near to the Mount and reasonable close to the Matua Peninsula and several inland attractions. Stayed recently for 2 nights, booked at short notice and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a really good B&B in this area, e-mail or call Gaynor to see if the room is available during your stay in New Zealand."
