Property Description

We warmly welcome travellers from NZ and overseas, whether on holiday or business, to our comfortable, sunny and modern B&B and home in peaceful Bayswater. Here you can relax and feel at home yet still be within easy reach of all that Auckland has to offer.

It's an easy walk from here to the Bayswater ferry terminal where downtown Auckland is just a short, scenic trip away across the harbour. 5-10 minute drive to: motorway to travel north or south, Devonport or Takapuna, restaurants, conference centres, shopping and beaches. Start or end your NZ journey with us - we are within easy reach of Auckland Airport (about 40-50 minutes depending on traffic). Shuttles are easily accessed at the airport and will bring you right to our front door. We also offer courtesy drop-off or pick-up from either the Devonport or Bayswater ferries. If you are driving, there is an off-street car park for you right up by the house.

*Bookings for 1 or 2 people only can choose EITHER the Twin Room OR the Queen room
*Bookings for 3 or 4 people will have use of BOTH bedrooms.
*If you are booking for 2 people but would prefer separate rooms, there is an extra fee of $20 per night for use of both bedrooms - please contact us to arrange this.
*There is also a double sofa-bed in the sitting room which could be used if required.
*With this listing, we host only one group at a time so you don't have to share the bathroom or sitting room with people you don't know - they're all yours.

We have one Queen room with NZ queen-size bed (153 x 204cm) and/or one Twin room with two NZ king-single beds (107 x 204cm), accommodating up to 4 people. Both rooms are upstairs and are bright and spacious with comfortable beds and quality linens. The private tiled bathroom is between the two bedrooms and shared by both rooms. You also have your own separate TV lounge with fridge & tea & coffee making facilities. Free wi-fi and generous continental breakfast are included. Full cooked breakfast also available to order at extra cost. Laundry facilities available at extra cost. Discount for longer term stays.

Location

Location Information

The ferry to Auckland city is just at the end of our street - it takes just 10 minutes across the harbour and there you are in downtown Auckland! Devonport is about 5km from here - you can drive there in 5 minutes or walk there in 40-60 minutes (depending on how fast you walk!). Devonport is a pretty village with plenty of cafes and a ferry also runs to the city every half hour. Takapuna is the city centre of the North Shore and is only 5 km from here - shopping mall, cinema, restaurants and bars. We have several beaches on the east coast within a few minutes drive or 30 minutes walk - Takapuna and Narrow Neck beaches are our favourites. Bayswater is a quiet, residential neighbourhood - great to relax and feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but it's still easy to get to everything you'd like to experience in and around Auckland.

"The best B&B we have had on our journey so far. Outstanding! Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable!"

Bettina Hein, 14/07/2017

"Summary: Perfect Comments: Hosts were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Definitely rate this B & B a 10/10. Was exactly as pictured and described. Want another reason to go back to Auckland to stay here. Thanks so much"

K Douglas, 20/06/2017

"The loveliest B & B we stayed at throughout our trip to Australia and New Zealand. The location was perfect for Auckland and the surrounding beaches. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Should we ever get a chance of visiting NZ again this is where we want to stay."

Alan & Sally Keenes, 11/05/2014

"The quality of the furnishings, fixtures and fittings of this establishment rivals any luxury hotel. It's spacious, very well appointed and very comfortable indeed. (We were so impressed with the comfortable bed that we checked the label on the mattress to make sure we purchase the same for our new home here in New Zealand!) Landing in Auckland as new immigrants after 32 hours of traveling my wife and I, together with our two teenage children, could not have hoped for a better or more genuine welcome. Lesley and Gordon are excellent hosts and they can be rightfully proud of their establishment. We wish them every success. If ever we need to stay over in Auckland we now know where it will be! If this is what Kiwi hospitality and value for money is all about then we are off to a great start in New Zealand!"

Schalk Burger, 24/07/2013

"Thank you for your hospitality. We both thought that your bed and breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay and it was great that we were able to bring my daughter back and have some quiet time together etc. We will definitely be back any other time that we need a place to stay - if you will have us!"

Lisa Tahau, 10/07/2013

"Thank you for a fantastic stay. I like your attention to detail!"

Maria Williams, 30/05/2013

"Lovely accommodation. Very friendly helpful hosts. Easy city access. Excellent breakfasts!"

David & Lyn Letheby, 27/05/2013

"By far, the greatest B&B we've ever tried! What a sweet and lovely hostess! We got incredibly warm welcoming to their beautiful house where everything is so clean and spotless. The beds are good, the breakfast so yummy and the spa pool absolutely outstanding! 10 stars of 5 possible! For sure!!"

Ilmur & Jon, 08/03/2013

"We really enjoyed our short stay. Our hosts were perfect, very kind and always caring. Very stylish house and rooms. A very quiet neighbourhood with a good and frequent ferry connection to downtown. Delicious breakfast! It can't get better."

Florian & Kathrin, 07/03/2013

"Breakfasts yummy! Beds comfortable, top class linen. Everything spotlessly clean. Location good especially with offers of transport - enjoyed the ferry to the city. We have felt very welcome, much more like staying with friends than a B&B! Couldn't have been better!"

Mic & Frankie Laird, 04/02/2013

"All excellent! Can think of nothing that might be improved - bed very comfortable, food excellent, service far beyond the call of duty! If my other stays in NZ are half as good, I'll be well-pleased."

Tony Morgan, 04/11/2012

"What a nice place, very comfortable. Marvelous breakfast! Thank you Lesley!"

Anne and Serge PLA, 15/09/2011

"Beautiful breakfast, lovely room - clean, comfortable & stylish. Superb bathroom. All in all a fabulous place to stay. Thank you :-)"

Becky & Craig, 06/03/2011

"Breakfasts were everything one could possibly need or want & more - loved the beautiful fruit & its presentation. Little touches such as the bath robes, great range of tea & coffee & glasses for water & wine were much appreciated & used. Having the sitting room was a luxury as was the heated towel rail. Your house is just so relaxing with interesting artworks all around & a fabulous light & airy feel. Your hospitality was fantastic, way beyond our highest expectations & your help & advice when our car was broken into was wonderful - oh & I nearly forgot all your fabulous baking to produce treats to have with a cuppa - lovely! Thank you both so much."

Elizabeth & Peter Browne, 05/03/2011

"A beautiful B&B with lots of attention to detail, quiet surroundings & friendly hosts. What more could we want."

Tim & Vivienne Dale, 03/03/2011
