"My Wife and I stayed with Shane at the start of our holiday 23/24 March 17 and at the end of our holiday 19th April 17. From the start Shane could not be more helpful and informative. Shane's house is lovely and in a great position. Our en-suite room was lovely, light, clean and comfortable. The shower was great which was very welcome after a long flight from England. We used the buses into Auckland City and as previous reviewers have stated it is a lovely way to get to the City passing by St Helier's beach and Mission beach before getting a great view of the City skyline. Shane is a very relaxed host and you can come and go when you like and having your own entrance is very good. The breakfasts are great and it's just help yourself as it is set out for you and yes Shane it is always lovely to have a welcoming "cuppa". Thank you Shane for letting us share your home and for giving us a great start and finish to our stay in Auckland. You will always be part of our New Zealand adventure."

"We were there end of January and we stayed 2 nights. Shane is a very nice person and we felt really good. We liked to have breakfast outside on the terrace with a view over the green garden. Our room was clean, big and cozy. We liked to stay there and I can recommend it really. We are an couple from Germany, end 50 years old. Mikel"

"Hi this is a good 9/10 place to stay - I can't set the smiley faces or choose a nine which is frustrating perhaps the moderators of web site can assist please as default is 1! You will find Shane very helpful and welcoming with information of places to go and how to get there. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. There is space to park your car off road if you have one - we caught the bus. Breakfast was very tasty- you won't be hungry. The bus comes every half hour if you want to go to central auckland and will cost NZ$5. It goes from both sides of the road, it is a loop circuit trip but ends up at same place at Britomart. Lovely walks to the spit (do NOT miss this as superb walk by sea edge and bird life was brilliant when we were there), couple of large parks within 5 minutes walk and only 20 minutes walk to the beach at St Helier ....which coming from UK as we do was spooky as it reminded us of St Helier beach on Jersey. Here you will find plenty of cafe, restaurants and other small shops to keep you occupied. Do take the bus trip at least once though as you will have great views of the islands around Auckland as its a coastal drive. Oh and sky tower, harbour restaurants for fresh fish and sushi of course, don't forget the domains of auckland and Eden and..... well the list goes on. We really enjoyed our stay and we were there a week. Can recommend this homestay."
