The Mount Cook region is also known as the Mackenzie Country - it’s the high inland basin beneath the Southern Alps and Aoraki/Mount Cook. Mount Cook is New Zealand's highest mountain (3753m) and sits high above the snow-clad peaks that form the Mount Cook National Park. Th Mount Cook reqion is also home to some beuatiful glacial lakes like Lake Tekapo.
