Rayma and Phillip invite you to share their sunny, colonial villa situated in a quiet, no exit, street high on Bluff Hill. Enjoy expansive views and memorable sunsets from the upstairs bedrooms or lounge. On the ground floor, relax in the privacy created by the large established garden.
There are three spacious bedrooms tastefully furnished for your comfort with; quality bedding, lounge furniture, TV with DVD player,radio and CD player, refreshments, robes, hairdryer. Each has an ensuite bathroom. All bathrooms have showers and two also have baths. One is a modern spa bath, the other an old fashioned tub.
Upon arrival enjoy tea, coffee or a cold drink with us on the veranda and join us for complimentary tasting of local wine and hors d'oeuvres each evening. In the morning choose your breakfast from a selection of fresh, homemade and local foods.
After a day exploring and shopping in the Art Deco city of Napier, visiting the Gannets at Cape Kidnappers or sampling wine at some of the many wineries in Hawke's Bay or playing golf, fishing, rafting, walking or cycling on the extensive network of Hawke's Bay trailways, relax in the garden, on the veranda or in a guest lounge.

There are three unobtrusive cats in residence who do enjoy the guests who like to make a fuss of them.
Cobden Garden Homestay is 10-15 minutes walk down the hill from Napier city centre where there are a great range of restaurants, a variety of attractions including the National Aquarium and many art galleries and the famous Art Deco architecture. Enjoy the architecture with an enthuisiastic well informed guide or at your own pace with the Art Deco guidebook.
Local tours of the area, wineries and art deco can be arranged by us with pick up and drop off from our Bed and Breakfast. Enjoy the comfort of a modern air conditioned vehicle or the glamour and excitement of a vintage car with driver dressed in the style of the era. There are so many options, so many things to do, we do recommend at least a full day (two night stay) in the area but you will be well rewarded if you can manage a three ot four night stay.

"I have travelled the length and breadth of NZ many many times. This is THE ultimate B+B. Superb hosts - Phillip really knows his wines and Rayma is an outstanding cook and they have a house of elegance. From the 'Drinks at 6', gazing over the gorgeous garden, nibbling on homemade (and more often than not, home grown") nibbles coupled with superb local wines, to the sumptuous bedrooms and facilities - it's all a treat in luxury at a very modest price. The breakfasts are amazing and it will take a good brisk walk to the town centre to walk the scrumptious fare off! I hesitate to share this find as it is such a treasure - but hey - everyone should treat themselves to pure indulgence once in a lifetime. In my case, I do it as often as I go to Napier.
