If you're needing a stop over driving from Wellington to Auckland this is the place to stop for a peaceful nights sleep and excellent breakfast, to say nothing of the wonderfully hospitable hosts.

We have been completley delighted with IKA LODGE and the hospitality of Margaret & Kenneth. Our apartment was beautiful and perfectly furnished to make our stay lovely. The food and wine were fabulous. Their recommendations for local activities were exactly what we wanted.

Gorgeous house, wonderful, attentive hosts and best smoked trout breakfast in NZ. Relaxing, tranquil setting next to the best Trout River in NZ. Wonderful walks on your doorstep. Thoroughly recommend.

This is a fantastic place to stay. It's location is good for along the Tongariro crossing and for just a romantic getaway. To top it off the food is great. We can't recommend this place enough.
