Rive Gauche is an architect-designed home, purpose-built to offer quality lodge-style accommodation with bed and breakfast and self-contained options. Located on a one hectare site in a quiet cul de sac overlooking our private vineyard, Rive Gauche is a convenient 2km (3 mins drive) from Taupo town centre and close to the Huka Falls.
The nearby Wairakei tourist Park has numerous walking, cycling, adventure and cultural activites which can be accessed on foot from our property and we are well located for visitng the many tourist attractions of the Central North Island including NZ's three main thermal areas.
Our three tastefully decorated rooms have en suite bathrooms and offer a choice of single/twin/double and triple accommodation (advanced notification required for triple accommodation). Free Wifi is available in all rooms.
Two B&B rooms are located in a separate wing of the house with independent access and share a kitchenette with fridge, crockery & cutlery and tea/coffee making facilities. One room has a queen-sized bed and the other a king double and a king single bed. Guests in these rooms here may relax in our main lounge with Sky TV or in our garden courtyard.
The studio is located on the lower garden level of the house and opens out onto a private terrace with lovely views over our vineyard and the Waikato River Valley. Facilities include spacious tiled bathroom, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, benchtop cooking equipment, marble topped table with chairs, TV, heat pump/air conditioner and barbecue. Laundry facilities are available on request. In the studio we offer B&B option and self-contained options. Ask about our reduced tariff for longer stays in the studio.
Warm hospitality is our priority. We have travelled widely both in New Zealand and overseas and are happy to advise you on your itinerary over a welcome drink and/or a leisurely breakfast.
