"located about 45 minutes from Auckland and less from the airport, a good place to base yourselves and discover the area from good quality accommodation in an attached annex to the main house with all the facilities. Enjoyed our hosts company testing out their new patio pizza oven in the quiet countryside surroundings. Many thanks for a nice stay"

"Hey....great place to stay....we were there for four nights (wish it could have been more); you get a real "country feeling", yet only 45 minutes from Auckland and location makes access to to other NZ North Island destinations easy. Romi and Gaynor are fun - but their pet pigs, Eva and Arnold, certainly steal the show. Stay there! Werner and Martha Salinger"

"Great place to stay. We only had a short visit and stayed one night, but would have loved to stay a bit longer and really enjoyed the surroundings more. Great hosts - whom went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was more than we expected, and included what was possibly the best bircher muesli I have had so far. Would definitely stay there again and also recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing night away."

"Nigel and I stayed for two separate nights during our all too brief tour around NZ to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. Our time at Waimanu was one of the highlights of our trip during February and March 2013. The accommodation is spacious and well appointed, and very clean and welcoming. The breakfasts were superb, and the homemade bread, muesli and preserved fruits absolutely delicious. As well, the invitation to pick tomatoes from the vegetable garden was much appreciated. Romi and Gaynor made us feel very welcome, and we wished we could have stayed for longer. We have given cards to friends and relatives in NZ, together with strong recommendations to stay. Romi's recommendation to eat at the Village in Pumatahoe was accepted and we think our steak there was the best we have eaten anywhere! Hopefully, we will return! Elaine Furber, Bolton, UK"

"Loved our stay here, in the cozy B&B which felt like a nice 2-bedroom apartment, with ensuite bathroom living room and kitchenette. It's very tranquil, and offers scenic views of the rolling plains from the luxurious bathroom. Excellent place to recharge your batteries and the hosts are friendly, though they do give you lots of privacy so that you can enjoy your stay without feeling that your privacy is constantly invaded. And the breakfast though basic, is quite delicious - home-baked bread with spreads, cereals, weet bix, yoghurt. Highly recommended as a place to rest and relax, at a decent price."

"I stayed here for about two months, so I had plenty of time to discover its faults. Apart from a few minor issues which have already been rectified, the only real problem I had was the distance the house is from Auckland. This won't be a problem for most guests who can drive themselves, so, in sum, there are no problems to relate. The proprietors are the reason this is such a great place to stay. They were nothing but friendly and hospitable, drove me into town when they could, provided things to make my stay even more comfortable, kept everything shipshape and, in short, did everything they could for me. I couldn't think of a better place to stay"
